This year we had the honour on behalf of Matterport to carry out the 3D virtual tour of the John Lewis Christmas Shop on Oxford Street, London.

The scan was carried out on one single floor, that covered an area of circa 8,000 square feet. The space had already been prepared by the very hard working team over at John Lewis. Certain obstacles were switched last minute. At one stage we enlisted some burly men from the John Lewis security team to remove panelled partitioning to create a better visual.

This is a huge time for retail and we were very happy to create an immersive world for shoppers that want to experience the John Lewis Christmas Shop but are unable to.

We believe the virtual tours enable a bridge between shopping online and bricks and mortar. Not only can you experience the space, but you can click through tags that offer more information. These tags bring up a text blurb, much like having a virtual assistant, then you can click through straight to the payment gateway.

John Lewis Virtual 3D Christmas Shop

The John Lewis Virtual 3D Christmas Shop caught the attention of many publications. The Daily Mail called it ‘the future of retail‘.

How long did it take and how much would it cost?

The entire space was captured in less than three hours. Once the scan is uploaded to the server we can then process the data and have it turned round for you within 48hours.

Depending on how many mattertags you want and how big your space is, will ultimately determine the price. For more information regarding this you can contact us direct and we’ll happily give you a quote and turnaround.
